2:44 pm	FOTOWEEK 2009!!! Fotoweek 2009 officially kicked off last night. I photographed the awards ceremony on Thursday night, but was unable to attend the opening reception last night. I have to work tonight until 7:30pm and Fotoweek Central closes at 8pm, so I won't make it out to the main event tonight either. I will however be dropping in briefly to some of the fringe shows. First, I'll be visiting my bud Josh Yospyn's work at the "Fixation" exhibit at the Industry Gallery. The opening reception is tonight and it will have cool live music and free portrait photos for visitors by one of the exhibiting artists. Sounds like a ton of fun! Then I'm gonna head over to the Honfleur Gallery for the opening reception there since I'm in one of their Fotoweek shows. They also have exhibits in other locations throughout Anacostia that promise to be good, so, hopefully, I'll get to check those out as well if time permits. I'll be dragging Mr. Nelson with me :) (Comment on this)

"panda sex" in quotes?! do i want to know???!!! found at the bottom of the el station steps. ew. missy and i both thought this was real at first. yes, we are dorks. poor, crazy homeless dude who was ranting and cutting off his clothes. graffiti used to beautify, not to damage = awesome the blow up rat was apparently protesting the lack of union workers on the adjacent construction site. mobile law office? er? 10:42 am	washington national zoo IMG_5701, originally uploaded by azcra. i took my parents to the zoo last week when they were in town. it sucked. i also went two weeks previous with a friend and her kids. it sucked then too. i don't know why but the zoo this year is just not a good time. a lot of the animals were missing. they wouldn't be outside so we'd go to the inside habitats and they wouldn't be there either. it was super hot both days so all this running around trying to find animals to no avail was annoying.
